Item Upgrading: 11 Things You're Not Doing

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also boost the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests.  item upgrade  can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance, adding a Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials needed do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.

If an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will result in a lower chance of success.

Engineers utilize a level to compare the height of the building with a known location, such as the benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level before turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to an extremely high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is an essential aspect of the game and can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the higher your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also features various sets which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They could be of various dimensions, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They also aid in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways in terms of size and shape.

There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own a lot of armor pieces or weapons.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
